O-Zone Ready: A Community Workshop

Join the New Orleans Business Alliance on November 19 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Jung Hotel for a comprehensive workshop and expert analysis of the Federal Opportunity Zone program.

What is an Opportunity Zone?

An Opportunity Zone is a designation created by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 allowing for certain investments in lower income areas to have tax advantages. This program aims to encourage investment in previously neglected neighborhoods.

10:30am- Breakout sessions: Fund Formation – structure, term sheets, funding issues, etc. (Venture Capital Track, Real Estate Track)

12:00pm- Lunch – Question and Answers

1:00pm- Fund Management issues– reporting requirements, compliance, fees, etc. (Joint)

2:00pm- Investment Considerations: what issues need to be address before and during a fund investment? (Venture Capital Track, Real Estate Track)

3:00pm- Investment Exit and Distribution: What issues need to be address as part of the exit strategy? (Joint)
